ABOUT ME

If you've tuned into this frequency, welcome aboard! Whether you're a fellow skywatcher, a curious explorer, or just wandering through the noise of the internet, I'm thrilled you've locked onto this signal.

I’m Drishty Jadia, a graduate student in Physics at IIT Kanpur with a deep interest in observational astronomy—especially in the radio and X-ray domains. My current work involves studying radio transients using VLA survey data, and over time, I’ve had the opportunity explored a range of exciting topics, from AGN jets and X-ray binaries to VLBI instrumentation using Indian radio arrays like GMRT and ORT.

I come from Gujarat, India—a vibrant and culturally rich part of the country that I’m always proud to call home.

Outside of research, I enjoy expressing myself through art. I’m especially drawn to Rajasthani-style paintings, which I often try to replicate in my way. I love experimenting with different mediums—acrylics, pencil sketches, and anything that lets me blend detail with creativity. And of course, sky gazing remains one of my favorite pastimes—just lying back and watching the stars never gets old.

This space is a glimpse into my academic journey, my interests, and the projects that keep me curious.

Thanks for visiting! Feel free to explore and reach out if our wavelengths align.

An investigation into the accretion activity and X-ray spectral properties of 136 Giant Radio Galaxies (GRGs) detected via LOFAR. The project uses Chandra X-ray data and SDSS spectroscopy to probe the connection between relativistic jets and central black hole activity.

Experimental VLBI using GMRT, NCRA 15m, and ORT

GMRT Antenna

This project investigates the feasibility of conducting Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) using Indian radio telescopes at intermediate (~80 km) and long (~1000 km) baselines. Observations were conducted at 1.4 GHz and 325 MHz using the GMRT, NCRA 15m antenna, and ORT. The study focused on clock stability assessment, pulsar-based delay calibration, and offline correlation. While fringes were not detected on the GMRT–15m baseline due to timestamping issues, successful VLBI fringes were obtained between GMRT and ORT — marking a key milestone for Indian VLBI capability.
